Hi there. I’m Bohdan and I record ambiences — forests, rivers, empty streets. I started Sound Weekends in 2021, because every weekend I was walking out of the city with a recorder anyway, and the files had to go somewhere.
I work alone, mostly at night and before sunrise, when there is no traffic left to ruin a take. Everything is 192 kHz / 24-bit, tagged with UCS, and comes with the notes I made on location.

I walk in the evening, set up before midnight and leave the rig running until the light comes back. Nothing is layered afterwards and nothing is denoised — if a take has a plane in it, it does not ship. What you get is the file as it came off the card, trimmed and faded.
